Beth Pahmeier - Director of Operations, Administrator and Registered Dietician

I am a registered dietitian, licensed by the state of Wisconsin for the past 15 years. Over the past 25 years I have worked in long term care in many roles and in different types of settings. I have provided direct care as a certified nursing assistant in nursing homes and as a CBRF caregiver in assisted living. As a Clinical Dietitian and Dining Service Director, I have worked in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted livings and provided nutrition teaching for in-home clients. I have worked at the corporate level, writing policies/procedures, directing regional dining specialists and conducting quality assurance programs.

After working many years for larger companies, I had the opportunity to go out on my own to provide quality care and services that I very strongly believe in.  I have owned and operated my own assisted living homes since 2006 and have provided assistance as a consultant for others opening up facilities. The need for quality care for people suffering with dementia has really come to the forefront. With that in mind, I have studied the disease and attended several workshops and training on how to provide quality care for those with dementia. I am now a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Practitioner Trainer through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. 

As a health care provider, I believe it is my duty to remain current in the latest information in my field of long term care, with an emphasis on nutrition and dementia. My priority then is to share what I learn with those who work in long term care settings and also with those who live it. In addition to providing direction in all aspects of assisted living operations; I teach classes in nutrition, quality food service for assisted livings and now also dementia classes.

Beth's husband. Served as a Christian elementary school teacher for over 25 years and a principal for many of those years as well. Growing up in Cleveland, he can easily reminisce with the residents from the area.

Ken Schmitz, RN

Ken Schmitz- RN 

Graduate of Cardinal Stritch College, 1993, spending the majority of the past 12 years consulting for Assisted Living Homes. He is President of Quality Advocates for Assisted Living, a networking support group for assisted livings. Active member of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association Education Committee. Clinical experience includes hospital nursing, nursing home management specializing in long term care with experience coordinating care through home health and hospice.

Rachel Valukas - LPN House Manager, Howards Grove

Rachael Valukas - LPN House Manager

I graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College as a Practical Nurse. I have over 10 years of experience working with the elderly. I started working as a CNA for Harvest home in 2012, becoming the LPN House manager in 2014. Working with the elderly population has been one of my most rewarding experiences in life, aside from having my son Blake and daughter Emma. My Husband Ryan and I grew up in the area, and currently live close by with our children. I grew up in a very family oriented household and I bring those values into my work.

I strive to make the transition of moving loved ones from their familiar environment into their new home by alleviating the stresses that family members involved may experience. In doing this, more time can be spent focusing on what is really important, Family.

Wendi - Activity Director/Marketing Director

Wendi - Activity Director/Marketing Director

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay with an Art Major Gallery/Museum Emphasis and an Arts Management Minor. I have had a love for the arts and creativity since I was young. I have also had the experience of working as a caregiver at Harvest Home Assisted Living and working closely with the residents. I very much enjoy the time I have with the residents whether we are creating art, playing cards, on an outing, or just talking.

As an Activity Director it is my desire to encourage others as they find a new way to express themselves and live life to its fullest. In my spare time I enjoy painting. My husband Jake and I are blessed with two children.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to spend time and share new ideas with the residents of Harvest Home. It strongly believe in Harvest Home's mission and can't am proud to be a  part of helping people age with purpose and grace.
